A first prototype with a single ASIC has been realized during spring 2003 and tested with calibration input pulses, radioactive sources and for the acquisition of images of mammographic samples at the SYRMEP beam line at Elettra.
The results have been very satisfying since the maximum rate achieved without efficiency loss is 3 MHz.
