Il giorno 30 Marzo 2011 alle ore 11 presso l'aula T19 del Dipartimento 
di Fisica il prof. Harut Avakian (Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator), terrà un seminario dal titolo:

"Studies of the  Transverse Nucleon Structure at JLab"

Measurement of transverse momenta of final state hadrons in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS), for which a hadron is detected in coincidence with the scattered lepton, gives access to the transverse momentum distributions (TMDs) of quarks, which are not accessible in inclusive scattering.  In recent years great progress has been made in measurements of different spin and azimuthal asymmetries in hard  scattering processes providing access to TMDs.  Different facilities world-wide including CLAS and Hall-A at JLab and COMPASS at CERN have measurements of TMDs  as one of their main focuses of research. TMD studies are also becoming an important part of future Drell-Yan experiments at Fermilab and RHIC. Studies of TMDs are also one of the main driving forces of the JLab 12 GeV upgrade project.
In this talk we present  an overview of the latest developments in studies of SIDIS at JLab and discuss several already approved and some new  proposals to study TMDs at JLab12.
