Dear colleagues,
after consultation with all the Italian CDF group,
and in agreement with the CDF Italian group leaders and
all the interested and involved peoples, I have defined
a new organization of responsibilities in the Italian
CDF Computing project.

I am also posting this on my web page
http://www.ts.infn.it/~belforte/offline/NEW-ORG.html

The CDF Italy Computing project is now structured with
an overall coordinator and various subproject with
individual leaders. Please use those names, not mine,
as main reference for all your needs or questions
in the indicated areas.

There are and will be tasks that
cross subproject boundaries or do not belong explicitly
to any of the following sub-projects, they will automatically
fall in the overall coordinator hands.

Overall coordination and responsibility: Stefano Belforte
Subprojects:

A. CNAF farm: installation, operation, maintenance, monitor,
evolution into Tier1 common pool: Subir Sarkar

B. Needs assessment, planning and requests for common computing resources,
allocation and management of common INFN resources at FNAL and CNAF,
data replica at CNAF and access via SAM to CNAF data,
interface with Tier1 and INFNGRID management: Donatella Lucchesi

C. dataset skimming and concatenation tools, maintenance of CDF
software distribution in Italy: Francesco Delli Paoli

D. tools to manage user's data in SAM: Armando Fella

E. Resources for end user analysis and local computing in
   sezioni INFN: Fabrizio Scuri

F. Grid transition: Igor Sfiligoi
This is a a large project with many people already having
undertaken specific responsibilities under Igor's overall
   supervision:
VO, VOMS and UI on AFS: Subir Sarkar
    New Submitter: Armando Fella
New CafExe and mailer: Francesco Delli Paoli
    New monitor: Daniel Jeans
    New CAF bring-all-together: Subir Sarkar
CAF servers monitoring via GridIce: Ignazio Lazzizzera

More sub-project can be defined in the future as needed and useful.
In particular the following project is starting now.

G. Tools to manage and access via SRM, CDF user's data disk areas,
and cooperation with GRID SE management projects.

Waiting for objectives, program and schedule, and interaction with
INFNGRID people to be better defined, it stays under my direction.
People already involved are Ignazio Lazzizzera with Gabriele Compostella
(PhD student in Trento).
